Such a sad day....

The icon known as Whitney Houston as been taken from us. At the age of 48, so sad, just really, really sad. I think everyone was hoping someday she would make a comeback. Too bad she will never get that chance. Such a loss.........

Breaking news.......Whitney Houston died at age of 48. How tragic!

The new me.....

I snapped this picture so you could see the new 13 pound lighter me!

At 7:25 a.m. this morning, amidst mostly cloudy skies, and temperatures in the low 30s, Groundhog Phil saw his shadow in the little town of Punxsutawney, Pa. If Phil’s forecast is right, it would signal a dramatic reversal from the mild weather pattern affecting much of the country. Many parts of the central and eastern U.S. have seen temperatures 20 to 30 degrees above normal in recent days. On February 1, just 19% of the Lower 48 had snow cover compared to 52% at this time last year

Sad day for the employees of AA

Today the airline I work for exposed their plans to gut everything from us that they didn't get back in 2003. I should be thankful, and I am that I will still have a job, but a job that I will barely recognize after its all said and done. This is the very first step, of a very long process. How will it affect me personally. To start, my health insurance will jump $183 each month. I will lose my incentive pay which equates to about $600 a month. There will be 100's of changes to the way I do my job. Some are welcome changes, like the ability to fly international, (i have been wanting to tap into that for a while). The elimination of full-month reserve (my on-call status 3 times a year) to having a few reserve days each month. The Biggest blow may be the announcement of transiting to a PBS (basically, everything I do for the bid service) will be going automated. How this affects what I do for the bid service, is yet to be seen. Hopefully there still will be a need for me. In the end, we all expected the cuts and changes to the contract, but across the board, we are all shocked at the depth of the cuts. 20%across the board cut from each department, 13,000 layoffs company wide (2300 flight attendants). But If I have a job, and good health, It will all be workable, just no longer enjoyable!

New Years Resolution Update.

So I am very pleased to inform each of my blog buddies, that for the past 31 days I have stuck to my new year resolution of Low carbs, and NO sugar for the entire month of January.......Let me back up a bit. On October 1st, (becca's wedding) I had reached my weight loss goal of 185 for that special day. In fact, I think we all made our goal for that event. Anyway, 185 on the 1st was the one and only day I was that weight. By October 2nd it was gone. too much fun and good food. Then of course came thanksgiving and Christmas, and before you knew it on December 31st I was back up to 198. I said to myself, " there is NO WAY, I am going over 200 again!!" So I started the Atkins diet for the month of January. 31 days of only 20 net carbs and 0 grams of sugar. How did I do........Today I weighed in at 185.6!!!! I lost 13.1 pounds in 31 days. I am sticking to it a few more days, thinking about rewarding my efforts with a big Superbowl eating blowout on February 5th. I'll let ya know how that all goes down later. It for sure has been tough, but in the end I cannot deny the results. So how are you doing on your new year's resolution??

Super day......

In a nail bitter finish, Tom Brady and his New England Patriots head to Superbowl 46 on February 5th, 2012. With 2 chances in the last 60 seconds of the game for us to lose, NE holds on to take the trip to Indy!! This season has been a bitter-sweet season for the team as the face of the Pat's, Mary Kraft (wife of owner) passed away this year, so this win is in her honor!!

Christmas came early for me.....

Christmas came early this year for me when Dustin got me a new camera. I have been wanting to upgrade my point and shoot for a little while now. My mom, a professional photographer, and after doing lots of research, found the Cannon S95 to be topped rated in almost all categories. Buying it herself, now I wanted the same camera. One thing I really wanted in the new camera was HD 1080 video recording, and this camera really delivers on that. Dustin and I took my camera out for a spin this past weekend and here were a few of my favorite shots. SO Mom, now that we have the same camera's, let the photo battle begin!! And, of course, a very special thank you to my wonderful husband Dustin for getting me this awesome gift!!
