Now its time to say goodbye...

Today is the last day of 2008. Some of us are very happy to see this year end and looking forward to what 09' has in store for them. I had a wonderful year. I was healthy, I have a job and a roof over my head. A husband who loves me. A family that I would do anything for. Now if I could just win the lottery....is that asking too much? Have a safe New Year's Eve. I will be in SFO when the clock strikes midnight, where will you be?

Snow Update.....part 2

Well at the peak of this storm it was real pretty, but it has changed over to rain now.
This video was taken from my back deck.

How's your Sunday going?

It's getting deep out there. I would say there is about 14-16 inches on this deck!!

Oh the weather outside is frightful.....

I just took this from my front porch.
We have about 8 inches on the ground right now but I think on my deck here there might be about 10. They are forecasting 3-6 more inches of snow on Sunday. At least I am home now.

It's a big one.....

I know I seem to be a little snow crazy these days but anyone who knows me, knows I love weather. 10 inches of snow puts me in that excited phase!!

Let it Snow...Let it snow...let it snow!!

Looks like we finally will get to see some snow this week. A couple of inches tonight and they are calling for 6+ inches for Friday into Saturday. I wonder if this is the same burst of snow that got my Mom snowbound in Oregon this past weekend....hmmmm

Road Trip !!

Nubble Lighthouse, in York, Maine (24 degrees outside...brrr)

A few towns were still covered in ice and out of power,
this was taken from the car

We managed to find a local Lobster Shack with power
so we feasted on Maine Lobster!!

Gloucester, Ma. Sunset in the Harbor

We stopped in Gloucester to see where they filmed the movie "The Perfect Storm". This was a memorial to the 10,000 men lost at sea since the 1600's. Then we came home and watched to movie. Even though I have seen that movie several times its still just as intense and emotional as the first time I saw it.

Oh the weather outside is frightful.....

For MIYA seeing snow for the first time was very delightful!!

Close call.......

The big winter storm of 2008 has come and gone. This picture was taken in Framingham, MA. which is only about 35-40 minutes from us. Living near the water made all the difference for us, we only had heavy rain. Amazing!!

Guilty !!

A Las Vegas judge today sentenced fallen gridiron great O.J. Simpson to at least 15 years in prison for leading an armed hotel room confrontation over sports memorabilia in 2007. Simpson could become eligible for parole in about nine years. Earlier, an emotional Simpson apologized to the judge and said he did not know he was doing anything illegal.

Happy December !!

Happy December everyone. The holiday season is upon us if you are ready for it or not. I hope to get the tree up on the 5Th. I still need to work on my wish list too, Santa's elves keep asking, but I have no idea what I want. I have family coming to visit the weekend of the 13Th. That should be a lot of fun. I did get Christmas off this year, so I will most likely be back in Portland for the big day. Hope each of you get a chance to take a moment and celebrate the season!

She deserved it.....

Although I wanted Lance and Lacey to win, Brooke and Derek deserved to win!! Congrats to both of them. Who would you like to see next season?

Still under the Weather....

This is an artist rendition of how I have looked over the past 8 days. Sorry for the lack of updates, but I got a cough about 9 days ago, lost my voice and has turned into Bronchitis!! Perfect timing, I got to be home in Portland with my Mom, however didn't make doing December schedules much fun. Now that I am on antibiotics, I am feeling much better already!

Meet our 44th US President.

Barack Obama wins presidential election.
I can hear from my hotel room on the 16th floor the streets of SFO,
everyone is cheering!

I just voted, have you?

Polls open as America rewrites history

Americans are lining up at polling stations today in what already is one of the most historic U.S. elections. Democrat Barack Obama could become the nation's first African-American president. Republican John McCain could become the oldest president elected to a first term. McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, could become the first woman elected vice president. Americans also are expected to vote in record numbers.

Make your Voice heard !!

Today, we the people (and the electoral college) will decide who we want to lead this country. Make sure you go out and make your voice heard. We need change, we need a new vision. Who ever you think can lead us best into that path, just make sure you VOTE.
