Monstah (monster) Storm coming.......

Almost 1/3 of the US population, over 100 million people may be affected in some 29 states. Tonight until Thursday this storm will creep across the country. When all said and done Boston could get up to 20 inches of snow. We have had 60 inches in just the past 4 weeks. Rumor has it another storm could be on its way for Saturday too, but we have to get through this one first. I am currently at home, but sitting reserve, so I could get called out. Flights are cancelling fast in the Midwest already. Dustin on the other hand is out there flying and probably won't make it home till Thursday. Sorry babe!! Simka and I will be at home waiting for your safe return.

Kudos to me.

Yesterday I received this nice letter in my mailbox at work:

--Please extend my heartfelt thanks to #1 Flight Attendant Ryan Perry on seq.2243/21Jan. Following deicing, while Ryan was conducting his cabin safety checks he noted that there was still snow on one of our wings. He compared that wing to the other wing and noted the "green fluid" (our type 4 anti-icing fluid) looked different between the two wings. He immediately notified us in the cockpit and we returned to the gate to be deiced again. Ryan's alert and professional attitude quite possibly prevented an unsafe takeoff from occurring. Again, please pass along our appreciation to Ryan for his professional attention to detail.

That letter made my day, and I wanted to share it with all of you!

No hot water........

I had spent the past 4 days working on schedules, Shaving was not on the top of my list. Then on Friday at 440am as I was getting into the shower the water NEVER got hot.....UH-OH!! Panic sets in and I wake Dustin up. He went downstairs and sure enough the water was all over the ground. All parts of my brain told me to call in sick and go back to bed. However we all know I have a better work ethic than that, so I got dress and went to work unshaven. Wouldn't you know I had gotten 4 compliments before 7am. Every time I saw someone I knew, I felt like I had to explain my lack of personal hygiene, however they all said they kinda liked it. So I snapped this pic of myself in Miami and posted it on facebook. 17 positive comments later and 2 of them calling me a skinny-minni, I shaved it the next day. Ahhhhh, my baby face is back. I thank my parents for those baby-look genes!!

Can you believe it's snowing again in New England. Were suppose to get another 9 inches of snow tonight. We are approaching the 50 inch mark for January. We honestly have had it pretty easy the past 3 winters so it's alright to me. I think I am probably alone in that assessment.

Being on a diet sucks!

Why does everything look so much better when you can't eat it? Take this for example. At the Miami airport, a flight Attendant favorite is Icebox cafe. They have great salads and soups and sandwiches, yet I can't decide between the Red velvet cake or the 7 layer double chocolate cake. I still am down 10 lbs since December 1st, but I have yet to break through that 200lb mark. I am on reserve next month and gonna really focus on it and go past that hurdle. Until then the Boston Cream Pie or the lemon tart?? Happy Eating!! (BTW, no desserts were consumed during this blogging only temptations!)

Kinda Cool Map!

Did you wake up to snow this morning? You were not alone!! Florida and Hawaii are the only states without snow on the ground today. Snow is present is 69.4 percent of the lower 48, which is more than double what it was in December.

Winter Wonderland, East Boston

So from this storm, we only ended up with about a foot, although a lot, not as much as 2 weeks ago when 19 inches fell. Anyway, it was still very snowy, very windy, and very wet out so I decided to stay close to home and was able to snap 32 pics just around my block. You can check out the entire album on my facebook page, but here were a few of my favorite ones.
