Heading right for the Gulf Coast and right toward New Orleans, we can only wait and hope they are prepared this time. Mandatory evacuations begin at 8am.

Little Brother no more....
McCain makes his pick!!
John McCain has chosen Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his vice-presidential candidate on the Republican ticket for the White House, a senior McCain campaign official has told CNN. The 44-year-old Palin, now in her first term as governor, is the first woman and the youngest person to hold the state's top political job. Wonder if Hillary is jealous?
Did you hear his speech?
Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination in a packed stadium tonight and laid out his credentials to take on and beat Republican candidate John McCain in the fall election

The Journey Continues....
Although it took 4 city buses to get there, its always worth the ride. Gig Harbor, Washington were my dad, step mom and brother live. Haven't been home in over a year, way too long to be away. I could definitely live here someday, with a view like that who couldn't~ My sister is coming up on Friday and then we head to Portland on Sunday.

Homeward Bound!!
It's been long overdue, but we are finally taking some time off from work to see the family. Starting the 21st we will be in CDA to celebrate Dustin's sister Ariana's wedding. Then on Sunday Miya, Brooklyn, and Thomas will all be baptised. We will stay here until Wednesday, then its off to Gig Harbor to see Dad, Janet and Connor. I haven't seen them all year. On the 31st I will continue my journey down to Portland to spend the week with my mom and sister. I have been so homesick to see everyone. Should be lots of fun and I am looking forward to the next 2 weeks off. See you all soon. PS. Miya is just as cute in person, and she already LOVES me.

Just to prove to myself.....
Just to prove to myself it wasn't a fluke, I combined 2 of my favorite things together. My friend Karen Rose and I rode our bike on the beach to the PinkBerry and back. 14 Miles each way for a total of 28 miles. PinkBerry is so worth the ride. I got my Usual, as seen a few post ago. The weather was perfect, nice ocean breeze, and my farmer tan is really coming along. Hope you are having a good day too.

It's Amazing!!
Go USA
Let me know what your favorite Summer Olympic events are.
Star Gazing........
One of the fun things about flying to LA is the celebrities. Here are some of the famous and not-so-famous I have seen just this month. Senator John Kerry, Jonathan Penner (Survivor), Manny Ramirez (former Redsox player), Maria Bello (ER, The Mummy), Ali Larter (Heroes), Eli Roth (Cabin fever/Hostel), Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Rob Lowe (Brothers and Sisters).

If you ever get the chance......
One thing I like to do when I am in LA is go to Pinkberry. You might not of ever heard of it, but you see all the celebrities in the tabloids eating it, (some of them twice a day). My Favorite is the Original Tart with fresh Mango, Strawberries and Blackberries. It's only 90 calories per ounce. It's a good thing I don't live in LA, cause I would eat this stuff for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So if you ever see a Pinkberry, you must, I repeat must try it.....You'll love it!!

What did you do on Saturday?
I am in LA for the weekend and thought it would be fun to rent a bike and ride along the beach. I have done this many times before, however this would be the first time I would take on this kind of journey. My goal was to start at the Redondo Pier (as seen above) and ride to Santa Monica Pier. Sounds easy right? Did I make it all the way? How long was this ride? Find Out below!!
Redondo Beach Pier
The start of my Journey.
I look so convinced I am up for this challenge, don't I?
The next Pier is Hermosa Beach.
They have a really good breakfast place in there.
And No, I did not stop to eat.
(you think you know me so well)
This is the site where they filmed Baywatch.
Sorry no slow motion lifeguard shots!
Mahantan Beach
Site of this huge volleyball tournament.
There must of been close to a half million people there.
It was crazy!! Looked like lots of fun though.
Then I rode past the Marina Del Rey.
Spotted this Yacht. Can you see the helicopter on top?
Man, I wish I knew someone on that boat.
Santa Monica Pier
I made it!!
See the proof below.
So I made it to the end, WOW.
What's that? Now I have to do it all over again and go back to Redondo Pier
So I eventually, do make it all the way back to where I had started.
I asked the lady who was cashing me out, Do you know how far it is
from Redondo to Santa Monic Pier? She said I do.......
19 miles
Wait, 19 miles one way?
YUP
So my little bike ride adventure turned into a 38 mile bike ride.
All I have to show for this adventure is the pics above the the sunburn on my arms!!
So What did you do on Saturday?

So long Manny.....
This is Manny Ramirez. He is one of the our most recognized Red Sox players. He was just traded to the LA Dodgers on Friday. We flew him to LA on our flight today. I ask him if I could have my picture taken with him, and he told me he didn't want to start something that would of never ended. I can respect that. Just Manny being Manny I guess. Good Luck in LA.
